Product Description

Easihold Rocks! A Revolutionary New Patented Stone & Gravel Binder - Capable of Bonding and Fixing Them in Place.

Any Mulch. Any Stone. Any Gravel.

Water Based Non-Harmful Binder - Easihold is a water based, non-harmful, easy to use resin binder that leaves stones & gravel permeable, with a protective sheen. Easihold is recommended to hold in place clean stones, 4mm to 20mm in diameter. Easihold is not suitable for vehicle traffic or frequent / heavy-duty traffic.

Easy to Use DIY Product - Easihold is perfect for use on new or existing stones. Dirt and silt deposits ought to be washed off prior to application - and ensure the weather conditions are good for the 72 hours post application.

3 Easy Application Methods - Easihold is applied by 3 different application techniques - Pour On, Spray On or Mix In.

3 Easy Application Techniques

Spray On

COVERS 8m² per Coat

Stones:

Easihold can be spray applied using a standard airless sprayer. 3 coats are required, 1/3 of this bottle covers 8m². Spraying Easihold limits penetration into the base layer. Great for achieving a larger coverage for decorative use, but this method won’t provide as strong a surface finish.

Mulch:

The spray method is the most recommended for applying on mulch. 3 coats are required on the same 8m² area. Ensure to clean out your sprayer with hot water in case of clogging.

Pour On

Easihold can be poured from a watering can, ensuring your stones are evenly coated. You will typically get less coverage from this method, as more Easihold will pour out, which makes it difficult to advise exact coverage rates.

However, the pour method can be useful for smaller areas of gravel. Make sure you use a watering can with a steady flow that is dispersing the Easihold liquid evenly across the stones or mulch.

The one main consideration with this method is over saturation. Easihold is air drying, so application of excessive amounts will leave the surface wet and unbonded.

Hand-Mix

MIXES 7 x 20kg BAGS OF STONES

The mixing method leaves the strongest finish, especially if the surface is to receive any foot traffic, guaranteeing the stones are evenly coated throughout.

Mix Easihold with your stones until they’re evenly coated. You can typically only use this method of application with new stones - mixing with old, dirty stones, could be difficult.

We wouldn't advise using the mix method for mulch.

Recommendations to Consider Before, During, and After Applying Easihold

Before Application

1. Prepare the Subbase: Ensure the subbase is free draining underneath the rocks or mulch.

2. Clean the surface: Make sure the rocks are clean and dry, before applying.

3. Protect surrounding surfaces: Cover surfaces near the rocks or mulch to protect from spillages.

4. Wear gloves: Use gloves to protect yourself.

5. Check the weather forecast: Make sure there will be dry weather for 72 hours before and after application.

During Application

1. Select the correct application method: For small areas and finishes, use a spray method; for large areas that receive foot traffic, use the mix method.

2. Gather application tools: Collect all necessary tools based on the application method you have chosen.

3. Follow the instructions: Carefully follow the steps outlined in the leaflet. Let us know if you have any questions.

After Application

Maintenance and Care

Initial Care

1. Allow to dry: Avoid heavy loading bearing on the surface immediately after application. Keep the surface free from any weight or pressure for the first 24 hours.

Long-term Maintenance

2. Re-apply if submerged: Areas that are submerged in water for over 48 hours will require re-application.

3. Renew the top coating: Re-apply the top coating once every 12 months for foot traffic areas, and every 24 months for decorative use.

4. Clean Periodically: Brush or blow away any stray stones or mulch to avoid abrasion on the surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the drying time? Easihold is air drying so it is important that you do not over-saturate the area being treated. Leave to dry for 72 hours after application.
How many m2 does it cover? 5 litres of Easihold covers 8m² in 3 coats when sprayed on.
Is Easihold Permeable? Easihold coats the stones in a thin film, and leaves the surface permeable for water to go through as normal.
Will it darken the stones? Easihold dries clear and will not change or add a colour to your stones. However, Easihold will bring out the natural colour of the stones. If you want to see how Easihold will change the colour, you can add water - the final result will be similar!
What size stone works best? We would recommend between 4mm and 15mm diameter for the best bond. But you can use stones up to 20mm and still achieve good results. Even larger stones can be bonded if clean and angular, but we wouldn't recommend for any foot traffic.
Does Easihold work on mulch? It works perfectly on mulch - simply spray it on evenly, rake or turn over, spray again, leave to dry for 24 hours, spray a 3rd time, and finally leave to dry for 72 hours.
